The beach is outside Agios Nikolaos just before the Bay of Panagia and Vourvourou.
Along the coast there is sand with almost no pebbles. The bottom is also sandy and the waters are clear and turquoise.
To the north of the coast there is a small cape where the ruins of an old Byzantine tower are found.
Archaeologists believe that this was the ancient city of Shingos mentioned by Herodotus.
